Princess Cruises’ Crown Princess has arrived at Port Adelaide, carrying 3,080 guests and 1,200 crew on a 28-day round-Australia voyage and marking the start of South Australia’s summer cruise season.

The arrival comes as Princess Cruises announces plans to triple its port calls to South Australia in the 2028/29 season, generating an estimated $22 million in economic benefits for the state.

Princess Cruises vice president Asia Pacific Matthew Rutherford said the expanded program would give more passengers the opportunity to explore South Australia, including regional destinations such as Port Lincoln and Kangaroo Island.

Guests visiting Adelaide are taking part in excursions across the state, including trips to Hahndorf, Mount Lofty and Cleland Wildlife Park, as well as food and wine experiences in the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Peninsula.

Crown Princess departed Melbourne on its round-Australia voyage, with scheduled calls at Albany, Busselton, Fremantle, Broome, the Kimberley Coast, Darwin and Brisbane before returning to Sydney.

The cruise line will also bring international visitors to South Australia, with Coral Princess scheduled to visit Adelaide in March carrying more than 2,000 international guests.

Princess Cruises’ 2026/27 Australian season is expected to generate $167 million in economic impact nationally. The season will feature Crown Princess, Royal Princess, Grand Princess and Coral Princess, with itineraries covering Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.

Grand Princess is set to become the line’s next year-round Australian ship, while Royal Princess will return to Sydney for its third season based in Australia.

Princess Cruises will announce its full 2028/29 Australian summer program on October 28, 2026, with itineraries going on sale on November 11.
