Holland America Line will offer Pan Am-inspired onboard programming, dining and shore excursions on a 28-day cruise marking the airline’s centenary.

The Pan Am 100th Anniversary Legendary Voyage will depart Miami on October 30, 2027, aboard Zuiderdam, sailing roundtrip through the Caribbean and Central America.

The cruise will retrace parts of Pan Am’s historic routes, with experiences designed to explore the airline’s role in shaping international travel during its golden age.

Onboard programming will include presentations from aviation historians and former Pan Am personnel, as well as activities inspired by the airline’s exclusive Clipper Club airport lounges.

Speakers include actor and storyteller Willie Aames, Pan Am Museum Foundation chair and co-founder Linda Freire, and the foundation’s vice-chairman David Hinson. International speaker Steve Gray and travel industry leader David Kliman will also share stories about the airline’s history, service culture and influence on global aviation.

The cruise will feature menus inspired by dishes served aboard Pan Am flights, including sole en croûte, broiled filet mignon and soufflé Grand Marnier. A dedicated cocktail menu will include the Pan Am Cocktail, made with white rum, Campari, orgeat, lemon juice and egg white, and the Clipper Cocktail, featuring rum, Dolin Blanc and grenadine.

Shore excursions will connect guests with destinations linked to Pan Am’s historic routes.

In Cartagena, Colombia, a tour will explore the city in classic roadsters, with local food tastings and a focus on its history as a destination for luxury travel and emerald trading.

In Colón, Panama, excursions will visit the Agua Clara Locks and Panama Canal Railway. In St John’s, Antigua, a tour to Shirley Heights will explore the area’s maritime and navigation history.

In Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, guests will visit Chaguaramas, a former Pan Am flying boat base, and the Chaguaramas Military History and Aerospace Museum to learn about the airline’s role in Caribbean aviation.

Holland America Line vice-president of itinerary planning and deployment Paul Grigsby said the voyage would combine Pan Am’s history with the cruise line’s onboard experiences and destination-focused itineraries.

Pan Am Global Holdings chief executive Craig Carter said the cruise would celebrate the airline’s 100th anniversary by recreating elements of its early Flying Clippers era.
