FCM Travel has created a new head of Content role and appointed Nicola Ping to the position, as well as to the FCM management team, effective immediately.
Ping, who already works closely with FCM customers, will own the corporate travel management company’s content distribution strategy and lead its execution globally.
Working with teams across product, marketing, operations, sales and account management, she will aim to give customers consistent access to content their programs will use across air, hotel and ground in every market FCM operates in.
The move comes as FCM aligns its content teams around a “build once, use at scale” approach, built on a single content stack spanning NDC, GDS, direct connect and proprietary tools, sourced and reconciled in one place.
FCM said the multi-source approach can save customers up to 18% on airfares, while UK rail split ticketing can save up to 20%. Comparing air and rail side by side also helps travellers choose options that improve productivity and sustainability, it said.
FCM Travel global managing director Melissa Elf said the appointment builds on FCM’s existing content offering.
“Customers are looking for more from their content than choice. They want options that save them money and make life easier for their travellers,” Elf said.
“Nicola has spent much of her time working directly with our customers, so she knows what that looks like in practice. This new role builds on the strong foundations we already have, and will help us take our content further so customers benefit from a simpler, more joined-up experience.”
Ping has more than a decade of experience in travel distribution. Before joining FCM’s parent company Flight Centre Travel Group in 2019, she delivered the NDC solution for British Airways.
At Flight Centre Travel Group, she has helped corporate customers reach all relevant content, offline as well as in their booking tools, work for which she received a GBTA WINiT Award in 2024.
“Content is how our customers get real value from their travel programs, and it’s where FCM can make a real difference,” Ping said.
“Access to content isn’t the hard part anymore – making sure it keeps working for a program is. I’m excited to work with teams across the business to continue building a content approach that is simple, scalable and focused on what customers need, and that keeps paying off long after the deal is signed.”
