Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas has returned to Sydney for its encore season, joining Quantum of the Seas in Brisbane to form the cruise line’s biggest local summer lineup yet.

One of the largest ships in the region, Anthem will operate 21 holidays this summer, ranging from three-night weekend getaways to 12-night New Zealand voyages.

Anthem’s thrill attractions include the RipCord by iFly skydiving simulator, the FlowRider surf simulator and the North Star observation capsule.

Dining options include Japanese at Izumi, American steakhouse fare at Chops Grille and the immersive Wonderland restaurant.

The cruise line’s production of the Olivier Award-winning musical We Will Rock You headlines the evening entertainment. Guests can also unwind at the Vitality Spa and the adults-only Solarium.

“Following an incredible debut Down Under, we’re excited to bring back the award-winning Anthem of the Seas to Sydney for our most action-packed summer yet,” Royal Caribbean vice president and managing director of Australia and New Zealand, Gavin Smith said. “With a variety of short weekenders and South Pacific holidays plus New Zealand adventures, families can holiday in their own way, all with the ease of only having to unpack once.”

Highlighted voyages

• East Coast: five getaways of three to eight nights, visiting Hobart and Queensland.
• South Pacific: seven- to nine-night escapes calling at Nouméa in New Caledonia, plus Port Vila and Mystery Island in Vanuatu.
• New Zealand: nine- to 12-night itineraries visiting Picton, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Milford Sound.
