Luxury Escapes has appointed Vic Naughton senior manager – retail distribution after more than eight years as general manager, Australia and New Zealand at Air Canada.

Naughton brings more than two decades of industry experience across South Africa, the UK and Australia, beginning his career as STA Travel sales manager. He spent more than 10 years with the student-focused tour operator, eventually serving as regional general manager, International & ISIC – Asia Pacific.

Naughton worked as American Airlines head of sales, Australia & New Zealand for over two years, before moving to Air Canada in 2017.

“Luxury Escapes is a business I’ve admired for a long time – fast-moving, innovative and customer-led,” Naughton wrote in a LinkedIn post.

“After my first couple of weeks I’ve been so impressed by the people, the energy across the business and the momentum behind what’s being built.”

He said he was looking forward to reconnecting with the travel trade and partners and sharing more about the potential of Agent Hub.

“Thanks to everyone at LE who has made me feel so welcome already – it’s been a brill start and I can’t wait for what’s ahead!”
