kabarsula PROMPERÚ showcases Peru beyond its icons at Sydney breakfast event bandar SLOT INDONESIA
Hidden gems, cultural highlights and luxury experiences were all on the agenda as PROMPERÚ brought together Australian travel advisors and leading industry partners for an exclusive breakfast in Sydney.
The event Green Moustache restaurant aimed to expand trade knowledge of Peru’s diverse tourism offering and encourage travel beyond the country’s best-known landmarks and regions.
“Australian travellers may know Peru for its icons, but there is so much more to discover across the country,” PROMPERÚ’s Trade, Tourism and Investment Commissioner to Australia and New Zealand, Soledad Campos de Parry, said.
“Through events like this, we want to give travel advisors the knowledge and inspiration to introduce their clients to Peru’s lesser-known destinations and experiences, and encourage them to stay longer, explore further and discover a different side of the country.”
A panel featuring Adventure World national account manager Andrea Morgan, G Adventures business development manager Maria Brufatto, Intrepid Travel key partnerships manager Nicola McKenzie and LATAM Airlines regional director, APAC Alberto Chico Garcia, explored emerging destinations, cultural experiences, luxury travel and connectivity.
Beyond Machu Picchu
Peru continues to perform strongly within the Australian market, with Morgan reporting sustained demand for ecolodges, wellness immersion and luxury rail journeys.
“Clients are certainly looking to go deeper into those wellness aspects and absolutely to be immersed and appreciate the natural environment,” she said.
G Adventures’ Brufatto also highlighted lesser-known destination such as Chachapoyas, the capital of the Amazonas region, as Chico Garcia brought the growing hub of Arequipa into the spotlight.
McKenzie said that Peru presents a wealth of opportunities for Intrepid Travel’s adventure seekers.
“I think adventure to each, is each to their own, sometimes adventure to someone is literally just trying some new food or going to a new country, or trying to pisco sour, or seven,” she said.

Meaningful cultural experiences
The panel also highlighted the growing demand for travel experiences that create a deeper connection to local communities.
Intrepid has been partnering with AMA Restaurant in Urubamba, a small town in Peru’s Sacred Valley, founded by Julio Chemi Sanchez Hernandez, to create opportunities for single mothers and offer a space where they and their children can thrive.
“The first thing you hear is the children running around because it’s an environment for the single mothers to work, gain experience, and actually have room for their children to play because we all know that it takes a community to raise a family,” McKenzie said.
Peruvian gastronomy was another draw, with Morgan pointing to the country’s combination of traditional techniques and sophisticated dining experiences.
“Peru has actually been eclipsing European countries year after year as the best gastronomy, the best cuisine in the world, which I think is absolutely standout,” she said.
“One of the quintessential elements of that is incorporating the deep traditions and coming back to those traditional techniques, but then elevating it into a more of a sophisticated, sort of high touch experience.”

Luxury Peru
Luxury was also firmly on the agenda, with operators reporting growing opportunities to pair Peru’s adventurous experiences with high-end accommodation and service.
Brufatto highlighted Tambo del Inka in the Sacred Valley, which features on a new luxury product launched by the operator earlier this year.
“We just launched a new product at the beginning of the year and we’re starting with the first departures in 2027. And it is luxury all the way,” she said.
Adventure World also teased a new glamping eco-resort on a private island in Lake Titicaca.
“Luxury is subjective, but I have seen the interiors of some of these properties and they are outstanding. Your clients will want for nothing,” Morgan said.
Intrepid has also introduced a new Women’s Expedition led by a female shaman, offering a more immersive experience in a traditionally male-dominated field.
“It is a very male-oriented field. So to me, I think that is quite a luxury experience that you wouldn’t be able to do in any other capacity,” McKenzie said.

Increased connectivity
Improved air connectivity resulted in LATAM’s highest-ever capacity out of Australia, with multiple daily services between Santiago and Lima.
“We actually fly eight times a day from Santiago to Lima, which is huge. So pretty much any time of the day, you can get to Peru, and we also fly daily to Cusco,” Chico Garcia said.
LATAM connects travellers to 20 destinations across Peru, giving advisors further options when building multi-destination itineraries.
“If you do everything within the LATAM environment, it’s always going to be easier,” he said.
Following the panel discussion, attendees put their destination knowledge to the test in an interactive Peru quiz, with an impressive line-up of prizes provided by event partners.
