Air Tahiti Nui has signed an agreement with SpaceX to fit Starlink wi-fi across its entire fleet, promising passengers free internet from take-off to landing.

The carrier said the service would be available in all travel classes at no charge, with latency of 25–30 milliseconds and coverage that removes the dead zones common on long-haul flights over oceans and near the poles.

The airline expects to bring Starlink onboard in 2027. It described the announcement as the first phase of a broader transformation of its customer experience.

Air Tahiti Nui chief executive Lionel Guérin said high-speed connectivity was now a fundamental part of a successful trip.

“Our passengers place their trust in our airline. They expect us to provide a flawless in-flight experience,” he said. “We are naturally investing in this service – which truly matters to them – so that Air Tahiti Nui remains synonymous with excellence, comfort, and innovation.”

The airline flies from Tahiti to Paris, Los Angeles, Auckland, Sydney and Tokyo. Through codeshare partners including Qantas, American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Japan Airlines and Korean Air, it serves 90 airports via 131 routes.
