Damascus, Nov. 8 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa has issued Decree No. 210 of 2026, formally recognizing 24 faculties and academic institutes at Idlib University and incorporating them into Syria’s university regulatory framework.
The decree recognizes the institutions from their respective dates of establishment, spanning 2015 to 2026, and amends the executive regulations of the Universities Organization Law to include them within the university’s official academic structure.
The recognized institutions cover a wide range of disciplines, including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, engineering, science, education, economics, law and the humanities.
They also include faculties based in the city of Dana, offering programs in education, arts, economics and administration, and Sharia.
Under the decree, the original establishment dates of all 24 institutions are formally acknowledged, including the Faculty of Law, established on February 26, 2026.
