Demand for the Travel Industry Mentor Experience (TIME) continues to grow, with its February 2027 mentoring intake already fully subscribed following the organisation’s final graduation and induction event of 2026.
More than 70 travel, tourism, hospitality, cruise and aviation professionals gathered at lyf Bondi Junction in Sydney to celebrate the achievements of TIME graduates and welcome the next generation of industry leaders.
The event brought together mentors, mentees, alumni, sponsors and industry leaders, with TIME graduate and Gullivers Corporate general manager commercial and strategy Meg Dolan taking on MC duties.
Graduates shared stories of increased confidence, career progression and personal growth, highlighting the impact of mentoring on their professional journeys.
“Growth begins when someone believes in your potential, but it continues when you start believing in it too,” TIME graduate Christian Romulo said.
Industry leaders share lessons on success
The evening also featured a keynote address from The Ascott Australia managing director David Mansfield, who encouraged attendees to embrace persistence, remain resilient and never accept “no” as the final answer.
Drawing on his own career, Mansfield emphasised the importance of finding new pathways forward, remaining open to opportunities and recognising that success rarely happens in isolation.
He also highlighted the importance of empowering others to reach their potential.
TIME chair Penny Spencer said the event demonstrated the value of mentoring in developing the industry’s future leaders.
“Every TIME graduation represents a story of growth, courage and opportunity,” Spencer said.
“The generosity of our mentors, sponsors and industry supporters continues to make that possible. Their investment in people is helping to build a stronger, more connected and more resilient industry for the future.”
February 2027 intake already full
With demand for the six-month mentoring program remaining strong, TIME confirmed its February 2027 intake is now fully subscribed.
However, three scholarship placements remain open for applications.
Applications have also opened for the April 2027 mentoring program, with TIME encouraging aspiring industry leaders to get involved.
The not-for-profit organisation is also seeking experienced professionals interested in becoming mentors, alongside businesses looking to support the program through sponsorship and partnerships.
TIME’s mentoring program connects professionals across the travel, tourism, hospitality, cruise and aviation sectors with experienced industry leaders to develop confidence, leadership skills and professional networks.
