kabarsula ‘Game-changer’: Western Sydney business traveller hails WSI bandar SLOT INDONESIA
Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) is being hailed as a game-changer for business travellers, with one Corporate Traveller customer preparing to board the airport’s inaugural international departure today (26 October).
Penrith-based Jose Sanz, Head of Asset Delivery at JCDecaux Australia & New Zealand, says the new airport will transform the way he travels for work, eliminating the need to cross Sydney to catch a flight.
Sanz regularly travels to Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth to meet landholders, oversee advertising asset deliveries and spend time with his teams.
“I live in Penrith, so Western Sydney International is about half an hour from my front door. Having the option to fly from my side of Sydney, rather than heading across the city to Sydney Airport, is ideal,” Sanz said.
But it is the airport’s 24-hour operations that could prove the biggest drawcard for corporate travellers.
“Sydney Airport’s curfew limits how late you can fly home, but a 24/7 airport changes the equation. I could fly out in the morning, spend the day with the team, have dinner with them, and still get home the same day, ready to keep going the next morning.
“For someone who travels interstate regularly, that flexibility is a game-changer.”
Sanz said the airport would also benefit businesses operating across Western Sydney, including JCDecaux’s site in Prestons, near Liverpool.
“Our Prestons site near Liverpool is much easier to reach from Western Sydney than from the city. For our business, and for plenty of others based out west, WSIA gives us a real alternative that’s better located for where we actually work.”
While the availability and frequency of routes will ultimately determine how often he uses the airport for business, Sanz is already among its first international passengers.
“I am flying out of WSIA on 26 October for a holiday to the Cook Islands via Auckland, on the first international flight leaving the airport. I can’t wait to experience it.”
Corporate Traveller General Manager NSW/ACT Tore Bruce said the opening marked a significant shift for businesses that have traditionally relied on Sydney Airport.
“For businesses based in Western Sydney, the trip across the city to Sydney Airport has long been part of the cost of doing business. Western Sydney International changes that,” Bruce said.
“A curfew-free airport opens up same-day return travel in a way that simply wasn’t possible before, and for small and medium businesses, where every hour away from the office counts, that’s a big deal.”
Bruce said the full benefits would become clearer as airlines expanded their networks and frequencies from the new airport.
“As airlines add routes and frequencies, we’ll be helping our customers make the most of having a second airport on their doorstep.”
