Ennismore has named former Accor South Australia area general manager Llewellyn Wyeth as vice president of operations, Pacific, the first of several planned hires for its regional leadership team.

Based in Melbourne, Wyeth will oversee strategy and operations across Ennismore’s Pacific network, working with general managers, owners and hotel leadership teams on operational and commercial performance, guest experience and people development. He will report to Sylvain Pasdeloup, chief operating officer of Asia Pacific.

Wyeth has more than 20 years’ experience in hospitality across Australia and the Pacific. He was most recently area general manager for Accor’s South Australia portfolio, and has also served as regional general manager for Western Australia and regional director of sales for Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia, as well as holding general manager roles at major Australian hotels.

His background spans multi-property operations, hotel openings and transitions, repositioning programs, food and beverage, events, and working with hotel owners and investors. He is also co-founder of Le Mas Barossa, a five-star property in South Australia’s Barossa Valley and a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

Growing presence in the Pacific

Wyeth’s appointment is the first of several Ennismore plans to make in the Pacific. The company currently has 30 hotels in the pipeline across the APAC region.

Recent Australian openings include Mondrian Gold Coast, 25hours Hotel The Olympia Sydney, Hyde Melbourne Place and Hyde Perth. Upcoming projects include Hyde Bali Seminyak, The Hoxton Melbourne and a new 25hours Hotel in Bangkok.

Ennismore’s chief operating officer of Asia Pacific, Sylvain Pasdeloup, said that the Pacific is a key growth region for Ennismore.

“We see significant opportunities to expand our lifestyle brands across major gateway cities and leisure destinations, while bringing a genuinely differentiated proposition to the market through our integrated approach to hotels, restaurants and bars,” Pasdeloup said.

“As our pipeline continues to grow, having experienced leaders close to our hotels, teams and partners is essential to delivering that ambition. I am very pleased to welcome Llewellyn to Ennismore.

“His appointment is the first of several we plan to make in the Pacific, and it further strengthens our operational leadership across the region. He brings extensive experience of the Australian hospitality market, a strong understanding of hotel operations and owner relationships, and a very hands-on and entrepreneurial leadership style.”
