AmaWaterways has opened the next edition of its River of Rewards incentive, offering advisors across Australia and New Zealand the chance to earn a place on a 7-night mega famil aboard the new AmaMaya on the Mekong in 2027.

The campaign runs from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027. Advisors can qualify through eligible AmaWaterways sales, by accumulating points across six monthly challenges, or both.

The 2027 program adds more gamified challenges designed to build product knowledge and encourage advisors to promote AmaWaterways to clients. A live leaderboard will track standings, and registered advisors get education and selling resources, the latest AmaWaterways news and support from their regional sales manager.

The mega famil departs on 20 September 2027, taking qualifying advisors and a travel companion on the Riches of the Mekong itinerary through Cambodia and Vietnam. Highlights include Phnom Penh by tuk-tuk, a Buddhist blessing ceremony, traditional villages and local workshops, and the waterways of the Mekong Delta.

AmaMaya debuts in January 2027 and carries 120 guests in 60 staterooms. It features a contemporary take on Indochine design, two dining venues, a sun deck pool, a fitness room, three massage rooms and a dedicated Wellness Host.

The first River of Rewards drew advisors from hundreds of agencies and generated thousands of challenge entries. It is also a finalist in the 2026 National Travel Industry Awards (NTIAs), with winners to be announced on Saturday.

AmaWaterways managing director AU/NZ Steve Richards said bringing the program back was an easy decision.

“We had such great success with River of Rewards the first time around, and the response from advisors was incredible,” he said. “Hundreds of agencies got involved, we had thousands of challenge entries and millions in booked revenue. And the ultimate acknowledgment is that this advisor incentive has been recognised as an NTIA finalist too. So of course we’re doing it again.”

Richards said the new ship and destination add to the appeal. “This time, going to the Mekong on a brand-new ship, we couldn’t be more excited to showcase AmaMaya and share this incredible region with our travel partners.”

His advice to advisors was to get registered and involved. “Work with your RSM, learn something new about Ama, have fun with the challenges and talk to your clients about what you’ve discovered. We’d love nothing more than to see some new names earning their way onto AmaMaya with us.”

Australian and New Zealand advisors can register at www.riverofrewards.com/register.
