MSC Cruises’ latest flagship, MSC World Asia, has successfully completed her final sea trials, ahead of her delivery on 25 November 2026.
The trials took place in the Atlantic Ocean off the west coast of France this week, testing the ship’s engines, manoeuvrability, fuel efficiency, safety systems, speed and stopping distances – confirming her readiness as she moves toward final completion. The first round of sea trials was completed in July.
MSC World Asia will join the fleet as MSC Cruises’ 24th ship and the third LNG-powered World Class vessel, building on the success of the World Class platform.
The ship will offer more than 40 bars, lounges and restaurants, along with international entertainment options and a range of family facilities.
MSC World Asia will sail seven-night Mediterranean itineraries calling at Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa, Civitavecchia for Rome, Messina and Valletta, with accessible embarkation available in every port.

Finishing touches
The ship will now undergo final finishing touches at the Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, ahead of her delivery to MSC Cruises on 25 November. She will be officially named on 28 November in Le Havre, France, in a ceremony bringing together travel industry figures, international media and invited guests.
Guests will take the ship’s first voyage on 4 December, when she departs Barcelona on her inaugural seven-night sailing.
Among the standout attractions on board is The Spiral @ Tree of Life – the longest dry slide at sea at 81.3 metres, taking guests down 12 decks with ocean views.
The ship’s design also reflects Asia’s culture, art and landscapes, including a 12-metre-long, nine-metre-wide dragon sculpture suspended 10 metres above the World Promenade.
MSC World Asia is among the most efficient cruise ships currently at sea, running on LNG fuel with capability to use bio and synthetic renewable LNG. The ship is also fitted with shore power connectivity, allowing engines to be switched off in port to eliminate local emissions.
