Queensland aviation company Machjet International has added a second Cessna Citation CJ4 to its fleet, giving it two of only three CJ4 aircraft currently operating in Australia.
The new aircraft, VH-IPY, has arrived at Machjet’s Sunshine Coast Airport base and joins the existing CJ4, VH-PIY, boosting the company’s private charter capacity in response to growing demand for premium air travel across Australia and internationally.
Another aircraft is expected to join the Machjet fleet in the coming months as the expansion continues.
Machjet International managing director Simon McDermott said the decision to add a second CJ4 had been driven by demand and the performance of the company’s existing aircraft.

“The CJ4 has been a great aircraft for us and demand has continued to grow, so adding a second one made sense,” McDermott said.
“To now own two of only three CJ4s in Australia is a significant milestone for Machjet International and gives us greater capacity and flexibility for our clients.
“We also have another aircraft joining the fleet in the coming months, so it is an exciting period of growth for the business.”

The Citation CJ4 can carry up to nine passengers and has a maximum range of 2,165 nautical miles – combining business jet performance with the flexibility to access a broad range of regional airports. Its range and versatility make it well suited to private travel between major cities, regional centres and leisure destinations across Australia and the broader region.
Both CJ4s are owned and operated by Machjet International from its Sunshine Coast base and, like every aircraft in the Machjet fleet, operate with two qualified pilots as standard.
The addition follows significant investment in Machjet’s Sunshine Coast operations, including a multimillion-dollar purpose-built hangar and Fixed Base Operation at Sunshine Coast Airport.

McDermott said the company’s continued investment in aircraft, infrastructure and people was supporting the next phase of its growth.
“We have invested significantly in our aircraft, our facilities and our people, and that investment gives us the capacity to continue growing alongside demand,” he said.
“With another aircraft already on the way, we are continuing to expand the fleet and strengthen Machjet International’s capability across Australia and internationally, giving our clients greater choice and flexibility in where and how they travel.”
