Julie King & Associates (JKA) has appointed Anna Caswell as director, communications & content, strengthening the company’s in-house communications capability.

Caswell will direct JKA’s wider communications and content strategy, with a focus on leading Destination Canada’s media program in Australia.

She brings extensive experience across travel, tourism, and destination marketing public relations.

For the past ten years, Caswell worked as head of travel & lifestyle at Sydney-based Anne Wild & Associates, where she led communications across an extensive portfolio of international destinations, hotel, resort and cruise brands.

She brings strong knowledge of the travel media landscapes of Australia and New Zealand, having worked across both regions with Samoa Hotels Association, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, and Spectrum Group.

Founder and CEO of Julie King & Associates, Julie King, said that Caswell’s appointment marked an important next step in the company’s global growth.

“Anna brings a powerful combination of strategic thinking, destination experience, exceptional media relationships and a strong instinct for identifying the stories and opportunities that will resonate in market,” King said.

“She combines senior-level communications capability with a hands-on approach, which will continue to strengthen the work we deliver for Destination Canada and our broader portfolio of clients.

“As JKA continues to grow, it is important that we continue to evolve the structure and capability of our team to meet the changing needs of our clients and the markets in which we operate – Anna’s appointment is an important part of that next phase,” she said.

Caswell said that she was excited to join JK and work with Destination Canada.

“Canada has enormous resonance with Australian and New Zealand travellers, from its people and communities to its extraordinary nature, culture and experiences,” she said.

“I’m excited to dig deeper into the stories that go beyond the expected, and to work with the Destination Canada team, partners and media to bring those stories to life.”
