Club Med has appointed Marc Letourneau as general manager of Club Med Pacific, overseeing Australia and New Zealand, effective as of 1 October.

He succeeds Michelle Davies, who is relocating to Kuala Lumpur as general manager of a newly established cluster covering Singapore, Malaysia and emerging markets across Southeast Asia.

A dual Canadian-Australian citizen, Letourneau returns to the region after 28 years with Club Med. He previously spent two and a half years as MICE sales manager and seven years as sales manager for Australia and New Zealand, before moving into a regional sales coordination role in Singapore and then serving as general manager of Taiwan.

Since 2020 he has led the Japan and South Korea markets, overseeing commercial and marketing strategy while driving their COVID-19 recovery. He also led the development of Club Med’s two Kiroro resorts in Hokkaido.

“Returning home to Australia feels like coming full circle, and I’m pleased to be working again within a market I know so well,” Letourneau said.

“I’m looking forward to bringing those insights and experiences back to the Pacific, particularly as Japan continues to boom in popularity among Australian and Kiwi travellers.”

He pointed to new resorts in Borneo, Manado and Koh Samui, alongside significant investment in existing properties, as opportunities to build on Club Med’s position in premium all-inclusive holidays.

“My focus will be on continuing to build awareness and trust across Australia and New Zealand, showcasing the breadth of our destinations and the quality of the experience we deliver, and inspiring more travellers to discover Club Med,” he said.

Davies departs

Davies expanded her remit in 2025 to include the new Southeast Asia markets after more than six years leading the Pacific.

During her tenure the region became one of Club Med’s top five markets globally, and the Pacific team won Most Popular Accommodation Group at the National Travel Industry Awards for three consecutive years.

“It’s been a privilege to lead Club Med’s Pacific market over the past six years and see the business go from strength to strength,” Davies said.

“These achievements are a testament to the dedication of our Pacific team and the strong relationships we’ve built with our travel industry partners. I’m extremely grateful to everyone who has been part of that journey.”

Davies also welcomed Letourneau to the role.

“While I’m looking forward to this next chapter leading our Southeast Asian markets, the Pacific will always hold a special place for me, particularly as my home market. I’d like to thank our team and industry partners for their ongoing support and collaboration, and I’m delighted to welcome Marc Letourneau to the role.

“I’m confident the Pacific business is in great hands, and I look forward to seeing the team continue to build on its success from afar,” Davies said.
