Adina Hobart is using place-led design, local storytelling and self-guided exploration to connect guests with Tasmania’s wilderness and encourage longer, more independent stays.

The apartment-style hotel draws on the Central Highlands, Mt Field National Park and Lake St Clair, translating the colours, textures and organic forms of the landscape into the guest experience. Natural timbers and neutral tones are paired with accents of soft green and deep orange, which reference the warmth of the state’s eucalypt forests.

Large-scale photography by local photographers Elliot and Annalisa Doedens will feature throughout the property. Captured across Mt Field, Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair and the Southwest Wilderness, the images shape the hotel’s visual identity and introduce guests to landscapes they can explore beyond Hobart.

The hotel will complement the imagery with curated road-trip inspiration, encouraging guests to follow the landscapes depicted inside the property into the wilderness.

“Our goal was to create a hotel that feels intrinsically connected to Tasmania,” Hotel owner Richard Doedens said. “The palette, textures and organic forms all draw from the quiet beauty of the eucalypt forests that define so much of the state’s landscape.”

Adina Hobart will offer studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, with selected rooms able to interconnect as a three-bedroom configuration. Apartments will include fully equipped kitchens and independently configured spaces for living, working and unwinding.

The hotel sits within the same mixed-use development as the 142-key Vibe Hobart.

“Apartment-style stays are increasingly important to the visitor economy because they encourage extended travel and support local operators,” Adina Hobart general manager Jamie Capp said. “With both Adina and Vibe now in Hobart, we’re offering travellers more choice, whether they’re here for business, culture or nature.”
