Harry Styles is proving to be a money-maker for Australian hotels, with bookings surging by up to 30 per cent and Sydney room rates jumping $127 a night ahead of his upcoming concerts.

New data from hotel commerce platform SiteMinder reveals the British pop star’s Together, Together world tour has sparked a booking frenzy across Sydney and Melbourne, with fans snapping up accommodation months in advance.

The biggest rush came on 23 January, when Styles first announced four Australian shows for November and December.

Despite tickets not yet being on sale, the announcement triggered the single biggest hotel booking day of the tracking period for Melbourne’s late-November concert dates.

Demand remained red-hot during the pre-sale and general ticket sales, with bookings for concert nights running between 100 and 150 times normal daily volumes.

With six Australian shows now scheduled, hotel bookings across the concert dates are up as much as 30 per cent year-on-year, while room rates have climbed by up to 25 per cent.

Sydney hotels biggest winner 

Sydney hotels are the biggest winners, with average nightly rates rising $127 compared to the equivalent period in 2025. Melbourne hotels have recorded a $36 increase.

Fans are also getting organised earlier, booking accommodation five to six weeks further in advance than last year.

However, they’re staying for less time, with average stays shortening by up to 10 per cent, suggesting many are travelling specifically for the concerts.

SiteMinder market vice president for APAC Bradley Haines said the surge highlighted the importance of hotels responding quickly to major events.

“Harry Styles might be a once-in-generation superstar, but event-driven hotel bookings are not a unique phenomenon,” Haines said.

“This event serves as a reminder that hotels need to be dynamic in their approach to revenue management – or risk missing out on critical revenue.

“Having the right strategies and software in place to immediately detect and capitalise on sudden demand shifts is essential.”
