Qantas has launched a week-long sale across its Pacific network, with more than 180,000 discounted seats to eight island destinations – Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Samoa, Norfolk Island, Tonga, Palau and the Solomon Islands.
Economy return fares start from $579 from Brisbane to Port Vila, with travel on select dates between January and September 2027. Other fares include $599 from Sydney to Fiji (26 January to 22 March 2027), $599 from Brisbane and Sydney to Norfolk Island (June to August 2027), $609 from Brisbane to Noumea, $699 from Sydney to Tonga (from 24 July 2027) and $799 from Brisbane to both Palau and the Solomon Islands.
Business fares start from $1,099 return from Brisbane and Sydney to Norfolk Island, $1,209 from Brisbane to New Caledonia and $1,539 from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne to Vanuatu.
The sale comes as Australians travel overseas in record numbers. The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) recorded 12.7 million short-term resident returns in 2025-26, up 3.7 per cent on the previous year and the highest on record. Qantas said Australians took more than 430,000 trips to Fiji in 2025-26, an increase of more than 5 per cent, and that one in every 30 overseas trips taken by Australians is to the Pacific Islands.
Australia is also Vanuatu’s largest source of visitors, with the Vanuatu Tourism Office reporting its highest monthly arrivals from Australia on record in January 2026.
Qantas International chief executive Cam Wallace said the sale “brings eight of them into closer reach”, adding that with travel dates through to September 2027 it is “a great chance to lock in a break for the year ahead”.
Qantas fares include checked baggage, food and beverages, and inflight entertainment. Sale fares cover travel between November 2026 and September 2027, with blackout periods, and are available until 11.59pm AEDT on Monday 26 October unless sold out.
