Variety Cruises has appointed Steve Reynolds as CEO. 

The former APT Travel Group CEO announced his appointment in a recent LinkedIn post.

Reynolds succeeds Filippos Venetopoulos, who will now serve as chairman of the Athens-based independent small-ship cruise line.

Reynolds brings more than three decades of executive leadership experience to the role, working most recently as senior vice president of Discover Qatar for over six years.

Prior to this, he served as CEO of APT Travel Group, based in Melbourne. Reynolds has also held roles as global general manager of Back Roads Touring and CEO of Cox & Kings Australia.

He also worked as CEO of Tempo Holidays for more than six years, and held various managerial positions in UK-based PGL Travel.

Variety Cruises has recently upped its focus on Australia and New Zealand, launching a search for a dedicated regional business development manager last month.
