New York City Tourism + Conventions partnered with United Airlines to host eight leading Australian travel advisors on a five-night famil trip in New York City.
The exclusive famil immersed advisors in a bespoke itinerary spanning luxury accommodation, dining, wellness, culture, entertainment, architecture and iconic New York City experiences – providing valuable first-hand insight they can take directly back to their clients.
With Australian travellers increasingly seeking highly personalised and experiential luxury holidays, the companies designed the program to demonstrate that New York City offers an extraordinary depth of experiences across accommodation, wellness, culture, dining and entertainment.
“There is simply no substitute for experiencing New York City first-hand, particularly for luxury travel advisors who are looking to create highly personalised itineraries for their clients,” New York City Tourism + Conventions trade, market development & PR account manager for Australia Trina Shepherd said. “From extraordinary hotels and elevated dining to Broadway, wellness and some of the city’s most spectacular viewpoints, the program allowed our advisors to experience the diversity of New York City’s high-end offering for themselves.”
United Airlines provided Business Class travel between Australia and New York City and a premium end-to-end travel experience for the participating advisors.

The itinerary
The itinerary began with stays at Faena and Equinox hotels, giving advisors the opportunity to experience two distinctly different expressions of contemporary NYC luxury.
In Lower Manhattan, the group explored the immersive world of Mercer Labs, visited the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, and experienced The Wall Street Hotel, before enjoying wellness treatments at AIRE Ancient Baths.
Entertainment was a key component of the program, with a pre-show reception at The Times Square EDITION followed by a performance of JUST IN TIME on Broadway.
The group was also given exclusive stays at JW Marriott Essex House and Park Lane New York with hotel inspections and hosted dining experiences providing advisors with valuable insight into the properties and their suitability for Australian clients.
Some of the highlights included exclusive VIP tours of Rockefeller Center, The Empire State Building and Summit One Vanderbilt, allowing advisors to get an in-depth perspective of some of New York City’s most recognisable landmarks.
Culture and discovery continued at the American Museum of Natural History, while an afternoon High Tea at The Plaza’s iconic Palm Court showcased the timeless elegance of one of New York City’s most celebrated hotels.
The program also explored NYC’s dynamic food and neighbourhood scene, including dining at Paris Bar and Gansevoort Meatpacking, followed by free time to discover the Meatpacking District and Chelsea Market.
The final morning included breakfast and a site inspection at Park Lane New York before the group headed to United Airlines’ Polaris Lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport ahead of their return journey to Australia.
