FCM Consulting, a division of FCM Travel, has appointed Gemma King as global practice lead, outsourced travel resources (OTR).

King will lead the growth of the company’s OTR practice and give enterprise clients flexible, on-demand access to senior travel management expertise.

She brings more than 20 years of experience designing, building and transforming corporate travel programs for large global organisations. King joins from Omnicom Group, where she spent the past decade leading global travel strategy.

As vice president of global corporate travel, she expanded Omnicom’s global travel program from 11 to 30 countries and established its first carbon reduction targets, governance framework and traveller security program. Prior to this, she led travel category management at KPMG.

King’s appointment follows FCM’s decision to bring its global account management and consulting functions together under a single customer-led vision, led by chief customer officer Jo Lloyd.

“Gemma brings extensive experience from the buyer side of the industry, having spent much of her career leading multinational travel programs and major transformation initiatives,” Lloyd said

“That perspective will be invaluable as we grow OTR and give clients access to experienced people who understand first-hand the challenges they are managing.”

Growing OTR capabilities

FCM Consulting’s OTR provides clients with experienced travel professionals who can be deployed into their organisations to lead, support or accelerate specific programs. Under King’s management, the practice will grow its team and capabilities to meet rising client demand.

In recent years, King has also been an influential member of the UK travel community.

She joined the Board of the Institute of Travel Management (ITM) in 2019 and was appointed Chair in 2025.

She also co-leads the ITM Mentoring Program, reflecting her wider commitment to developing talent across the travel profession.

“I’m looking forward to bringing together talented people and deep travel expertise to make a tangible difference to our clients’ programs,” King said.

“My focus will be on giving clients experienced support when and where they need it, while making the most of opportunities presented by automation and AI. I’m excited about helping clients turn ambitious travel strategies into programs that deliver day-to-day.”
