This latest chapter marks a deliberate shift \u2013 for the first time, VTO has turned the lens on the Ni-Vanuatu people themselves, capturing customs, sounds and traditions as they\u2019re lived day to day, rather than presented for visitors. Photo: Vanuatu Tourism Office<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Filmed across Efate, Espiritu Santo and Tanna, the campaign unfolds across five episodes, each built around a story VTO says most Australians have never had the chance to see:<\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li><strong>The Water Music<\/strong> \u2013 at Riri Blue Hole in Espiritu Santo, women perform the ancient art of water music, slapping and splashing the surface to create rhythm and song passed down through generations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Living Mountain<\/strong> \u2013 on Tanna, Philip stands at the edge of Mount Yasur, one of the world\u2019s most accessible active volcanoes, describing it as his \u201cuniversity\u201d and a peak that remains sacred to local communities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Sound of Community<\/strong> \u2013 in Espiritu Santo\u2019s Ransuck Cultural Village, daily life, kastom and connection play out much as they have for generations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>One Tree, One Canoe<\/strong> \u2013 in Port Olry, Sandy\u2019s canoe is carved from a single tree trunk, a tradition reflecting patience, skill and a deep relationship with nature and land.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Our Living Culture<\/strong> \u2013 in Port Vila, sand drawing and basket weaving reveal storytelling traditions still taught and practised across Efate today.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure id=\"attachment_813245\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-813245\" style=\"width: 2048px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-813245 size-full\" alt=\"One Tree, One Canoe tours. Photo: Vanuatu Tourism Office<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Immersive experiences<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">VTO CEO Adela Issachar Aru said the campaign responds to research showing Australians travel to understand culture and immersive experiences.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIn Vanuatu we have incredible unbroken cultural traditions that are unique to Vanuatu, passed from generation to generation, such as water music and elaborate sand drawing,\u201d Issachar Aru said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAcross our 83 islands you can experience so much \u2013 from standing beside the fire and thunder of Mount Yasur volcano to witnessing the ocean become an orchestra as our women and girls share tales through water music.
