AirAsia and Pegasus agreed to embark on their first-ever codeshare partnership and will boost flight frequencies to Istanbul to daily.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The partnership and the boost in frequency will promote\u00a0connections between Southeast Asia and Europe via Istanbul.<\/p>\n

The airlines designed the codeshare agreement to to provide a smooth connecting experience, with guests able to travel on a single booking and have their baggage checked through to their final destination without the need to check in again or collect and re-check their bags during transit in Istanbul.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs AirAsia\u2019s first-ever codeshare, this partnership marks a meaningful milestone in our 25th year and the next chapter in our evolution from a leading Asean low-cost carrier into a truly global travel network.\u201d AirAsia Group CEO Bo Lingam said. \u201cBy connecting our extensive network across Asia with Pegasus\u2019 strong European network from Istanbul, spanning 160 destinations across 56 countries, we are making Europe more accessible to our guests while creating a gateway for European travellers to discover Asean and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n

AirAsia will increase its Kuala Lumpur-Istanbul frequency from four times to seven times weekly by February 2027, providing travellers with greater flexibility and more convenient connectivity between the two regions.<\/p>\n

The increased connectivity works both ways. Travellers from Europe can connect through Istanbul and onward to Kuala Lumpur, where they can access AirAsia\u2019s extensive Fly-Thru network across Asean, Asia and Australia. This includes popular destinations in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, China, Vietnam and more.<\/p>\n

The developments provide Australian travellers with affordable travel from Australia to more than 100 routes between Asia and Europe kicking off with five European destinations, Vnukovo, Esenboga, Zurich and Athens. They also provide Australian travellers with greater access to destinations across Asean and Europe via the Istanbul Sabiha G\u00f6k\u00e7en hub.<\/p>\n

The airlines are offering special promo fares for flights from Kuala Lumpur to the first five destinations via Istanbul Sabiha G\u00f6k\u00e7en, from just AU$276, all-in-one-way. Travellers can also easily connect from Perth to Kuala Lumpur from AU$180 or Melbourne from AU$387, all-in-one-way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
