Singapore Airlines (SIA) has signed an agreement to purchase up to 4,800 tonnes of next-generation sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from Aether Beacon Pte Ltd. over three years, with deliveries commencing in 2028.<\/strong><\/p>\n Aether will produce the SAF from waste carbon feedstock, including biomethane and industrial waste gases, using the company\u2019s proprietary Aether Aurora technology.<\/p>\n \u201cSupporting the development and adoption of SAF, and securing future supplies, are integral to SIA\u2019s ambition of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050,\u201d SIA chief sustainability officer Lee Wen Fen said. \u201cAs the first airline to purchase SAF from Project Beacon, SIA is demonstrating demand for new lower-carbon fuel production pathways in Singapore.\u201d<\/p>\n The fuel will come from Project Beacon, Aether\u2019s new production facility in Singapore.
