APT Travel Group\u2019s Lou Tandy has won the Consumer category at the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2027 awards. The recognition comes as the family-owned travel company prepares to celebrate its centenary.<\/strong><\/p>\n Tandy is the third generation of her family, and the first woman, to lead APT Travel Group.<\/p>\n She has helped steer the company\u2019s expansion into new markets and strengthen its luxury travel offering.<\/p>\n Now in its 26th year, the EY Entrepreneur of the Year program celebrates business leaders who drive innovation and growth.<\/p>\n Tandy said the award was particularly meaningful given the company\u2019s entrepreneurial roots.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen my grandfather started the company almost 100 years ago with a single bus, he saw an opportunity and had the courage to pursue it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cThat pioneering mindset has been passed from generation to generation and remains at the heart of everything we do today.\u201d<\/p>\n Tandy hopes her success will inspire other leaders of multigenerational family businesses.<\/p>\n \u201cI hope my journey can be a positive example that entrepreneurship doesn\u2019t stop with the founder, or even the second generation.
