There are few places in the world where being told to \u201cget active\u201d feels quite as appealing as Bali, as Mia Rogers finds out.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the W Bali \u2013 Seminyak, the answer to that invitation is now padel, with the permanent opening of Club Lacoste. It has brought two courts, a dedicated Lacoste retail space and a distinctly fashionable take on one of the world\u2019s fastest-growing sports to the resort.<\/p>\n

While padel may traditionally conjure images of serious-looking players chasing a ball around a glass court, at the W Bali, it feels considerably more relaxed.<\/p>\n

Set within the resort, the new courts were designed to be as much about the social experience as the sport itself. You can play, watch and wander through the Lacoste boutique, grab a drink and embrace the Bali-specific concept of being active.<\/p>\n

That is arguably where the partnership works best.<\/p>\n

W Bali and Lacoste have worked together for more than a decade, with Club Lacoste marking the latest chapter in what the brand has described as Lacoste\u2019s longest-running Club Lacoste partnership in the Asia Pacific region.<\/p>\n

The permanent concept has brought together the two brands\u2019 shared interests in sport, fashion and lifestyle, with the resort providing the perfect tropical backdrop.<\/p>\n

The courts are open daily from 8 am to 8 pm and are available to hotel guests and the wider community, making the space feel more like a new fixture in Seminyak\u2019s social scene.<\/p>\n

For those who are yet to be converted to padel, the appeal is fairly obvious once you start playing. It\u2019s a fast-paced game that doesn\u2019t require the same level of athletic ability as other racket sports, with the doubles format making it inherently social.<\/p>\n

Playing padel in Bali does come with its advantages. The tropical surroundings make an ordinary game feel considerably more glamorous, particularly when the alternative is sitting poolside doing absolutely nothing.<\/p>\n

Between games, the Lacoste element is hard to miss. The new boutique stocks the brand\u2019s latest padel collection alongside apparel, accessories, eyewear, watches and fragrances. The partnership has also marked Lacoste\u2019s first dedicated padel capsule, including its own padel rackets and footwear.<\/p>\n

The setup leans into the idea that what you wear to play, what you do afterwards and who you play with are all part of the experience.<\/p>\n

That feels particularly fitting for the W Bali, which has long positioned itself as a place that blurs the line between hotel, nightlife destination and social playground.<\/p>\n

Since opening in 2011 as W Hotels\u2019 first Indonesian property, it has built its identity around bold design and a playful approach to hospitality, with restaurants, beach clubs, spa and fitness facilities all contributing to its atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Club Lacoste has slotted seamlessly into that mix.<\/p>\n

It is exercise, but also an excuse to spend an afternoon outside. And, most importantly for anyone on holiday, it gives you something to do between cocktails, swimming and spa.<\/p>\n

For W Bali, the permanent Club Lacoste courts have added another layer to an already busy resort experience. For Lacoste, they offer a way to take the brand\u2019s sporting heritage firmly into Bali\u2019s lifestyle scene.<\/p>\n

For the guests, there is now a pretty compelling reason to pack your racket, or at least give padel a go.<\/p>\n
