Carnival Cruise Line will withdraw Carnival Luminosa<\/em> and Carnival Adventure<\/em> from Australia in March 2028 as part of its long-term global fleet planning.<\/strong><\/p>\n Carnival Luminosa<\/em>, which has sailed seasonally from Brisbane since the industry restarted in 2022, will make her final voyage from Sydney on 15 March 2028. Carnival Adventure<\/em> will depart Sydney on 20 March 2028 and will not return to Australia as originally planned.<\/p>\n Carnival Splendor<\/em> and Carnival Encounter<\/em> will continue to sail year-round from Sydney and Brisbane respectively.<\/p>\n The cruise line said the decision reflected factors considered when ships are deployed several years in advance, including long-term certainty and globally competitive operating conditions to support itinerary planning and investment.<\/p>\n The announcement follows the federal government\u2019s recent extension of the cruise industry\u2019s ability to sail between Australian ports until the end of 2028, while it continues to develop a long-term licensing regime for cruising.<\/p>\n Carnival Cruise Line country manager Peter Little described the extension as \u201ca welcome but interim step while the long-term operating framework for the Australian cruise sector is developed over the next two years\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cAs the only cruise line with ships dedicated year-round to Australia, Carnival has greater exposure to changes in local market and operating conditions than cruise lines with a seasonal or more limited presence,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe will continue to work constructively with the federal government as it develops the future arrangements for cruise ships operating in the Australian market.\u201d<\/p>\n Little encouraged guests to book over the next 18 months, with Carnival offering a range of value-focused sailings across the next two summers.
