Intrepid Travel has appointed Kate Cropper to its executive leadership team in the newly expanded role of group general counsel and corporate governance, reporting to CEO James Thornton.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n In addition to her existing responsibilities as group general counsel, Cropper will now lead corporate governance.<\/p>\n Based in Melbourne, Cropper has two decades of legal and governance experience across Australia and the UK. She began her career working in private practice at a leading global top-tier law firm before moving into senior in-house legal leadership roles.<\/p>\n She has held roles at Ashurst (formerly Blake Dawson), Thomas Reuters and Australia Post, as well as head of legal at Sports Travel & Hospitality and Prestige Hospitality limited where she worked on the 2019 Rugby World Cup and 2016 UEFA European Championship respectively.<\/p>\n Cropper joined Intrepid in 2019 and has played a significant role in helping to guide the business through the pandemic and in its capital raise in 2021.<\/p>\n \u201cEvery day is an adventure at Intrepid and I\u2019m proud to be taking this next step with a global business that balances commercial ambition with investing in communities and people,\u201d Cropper said.<\/p>\n \u201cBy building a culture of strong governance, we will be able to innovate, grow more effectively and have even more positive impact.\u201d<\/p>\n Intrepid CEO James Thornton said Cropper\u2019s appointment is a reflection of her outstretched impact and Intrepid\u2019s commitment to developing future leaders from within.<\/p>\n \u201cKate embodies our values, lives our mission, and is humble, hungry and smart.
