The South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC) has appointed Wavemaker Australia as the media agency partner for its Destination portfolio following a competitive review.<\/strong><\/p>\n The appointment \u2013 the first time the account has moved since 2021 \u2013 takes effect from 1 October and covers all Australian domestic and global media, excluding New Zealand.<\/p>\n It comes as SATC pushes to lift South Australia to become Australia\u2019s third most desirable tourism destination and grow the visitor economy to $14 billion by 2030. Tourism generated $11.5 billion in economic benefit to the state in the year to March 2026.<\/p>\n Wavemaker will build on Celebrate the Simple Pleasures, SATC\u2019s Destination brand platform, which highlights the state\u2019s culinary, nature and event experiences.<\/p>\n The win follows Wavemaker\u2019s June appointment to manage media for SATC\u2019s Events portfolio, bringing the two portfolios together under Wavemaker Adelaide. The combined business will be led by Client Director Jess Phillips.<\/p>\n Phillips said she had worked alongside SATC\u2019s Events team for several years, and that partnering with the Destination team had been \u201con my personal wish list for longer than I care to admit\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cSouth Australia has the absolute best stories to tell, and our team can\u2019t wait to bring fresh insights and limitless energy to build on Celebrate the Simple Pleasures and boost visitors to the state,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Wavemaker Adelaide managing director Kevin Kivi said: \u201cSATC plays a vital role in shaping how the world sees our state, so to be trusted with both the Destination and Events portfolios is something we are genuinely proud of.
