Tahiti Tourisme has signed a two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Luxury Travel Collection (LTC), Australia and New Zealand\u2019s luxury travel membership organisation, ahead of Air Tahiti Nui\u2019s new direct Sydney\u2013Papeete service.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The agreement was signed in Sydney by Bud Gilroy, chairman of the board of Tahiti Tourisme, and Nikki Glading, general manager of LTC. Tahiti Tourisme described it as the most substantial luxury-trade commitment it has made in the Australian market in more than 17 years.<\/p>\n

The partnership positions both organisations ahead of Air Tahiti Nui\u2019s new non-stop service between Sydney and Papeete, launching on 15 December. The route will operate twice weekly, year-round, on a 294-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, supported by a codeshare with Qantas.<\/p>\n

It will add more than 60,000 seats annually, remove the need to transit via Auckland, and cut travel time from more than 12 hours to about eight.<\/p>\n

Under the MoU, LTC\u2019s more than 600 luxury advisors across more than 35 member agencies will get access to a dedicated program covering destination training, curated luxury product and in-destination immersion opportunities. The Tahiti Specialist Programme (TSP) becomes the primary credential for LTC advisors selling The Islands of Tahiti, hosted through LTC\u2019s Galeries de Luxe collection. Certification will be the pathway to places on LTC Immersions, LTC-specific value-adds and advisor-incentive programs.<\/p>\n

Third record year<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Tahiti Tourisme said The Islands of Tahiti welcomed 281,000 tourists in 2025, a third consecutive record year, with Australia its fastest-growing source market. The tourism body expects the December direct service to unlock premium leisure, honeymoon and multi-generational travel demand at scale for the first time in a generation.<\/p>\n

Travel advisors can register interest in the TSP via tahititourisme.au or through their LTC-affiliated agency from next month.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
