Bookings are now open for K\u2019gari Backpackers, located at K\u2019gari Beach Resort on the island\u2019s eastern coast, with stays from just $50.<\/strong><\/p>\n

K\u2019gari Backpackers offers affordable accommodation for solo travellers, groups and couples looking to explore World Heritage-listed K\u2019gari (formerly Fraser Island).<\/p>\n

Rates start from $50 per person, per night for shared accommodation, and $140 per room, per night for couples\u2019 rooms \u2013 giving travellers an affordable new way to stay and explore the world\u2019s largest sand island.<\/p>\n

Accommodation includes six-share mixed dormitories, a dedicated female-only dormitory and couples-only rooms, providing a social base from which to explore the island.<\/p>\n

K\u2019gari is home to a natural environment found nowhere else on Earth, with towering rainforests growing from ancient sand dunes, crystal-clear freshwater lakes nestled among the dunes, and more than 120 kilometres of beaches stretching along the Queensland coast.<\/p>\n

The UNESCO World Heritage-listed island is home to half of the world\u2019s perched freshwater dune lakes and is the only place in the world where tall rainforests grow on sand dunes at elevations above 200 metres.<\/p>\n
