Image credit: Kristian Dale.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Rivetto, a certified organic and biodynamic estate, produced the wine in Serralunga d\u2019Alba, in the heart of the Barolo region. The Barolo underwent its traditional maturation, including 24 months in large oak casks before submerging underwater.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat made this project special was bringing together Rivetto\u2019s winemaking heritage with Hurtigruten\u2019s deep connection to the Norwegian coast,\u201d Rivetto owner Enrico Rivetto said. \u201cTasting the wine after a year beneath the Arctic was fascinating, and knowing guests will now experience it while sailing those same waters makes the story even more meaningful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hurtigruten built environmental responsibility into the experiment from the outset, with a fully retrievable installation and marine-safe materials used throughout.
