It\u2019s just about autumn here in the diocese, with CYM sports in full swing and the leaves starting to change. There\u2019s lots to do in the diocese too. Here are some events scheduled in the coming weeks:<\/p>\n

A.I. is at the forefront of the news these days, so don\u2019t miss tomorrow\u2019s (Sept. 18) Catholic Business Network\u00a0breakfast<\/strong> at St. Joseph on the Brandywine, in Wilmington. Father Joseph W. McQuaide IV, and Pat Zingo of FNDRSNG software company will present \u201cSoul of business: Catholic leadership in the age of A.I.\u201d\u00a0Doors open for breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and the program begins at 8.\u00a0Breakfast is $40 and first-time attendees are entitled to a discounted print and digital advertisement in The Dialog and thedialog.org.\u00a0Register at givecentral.org\/cdow\/Catholic-Business-Networking<\/a>. This sounds like a fun one \u2026 on Sept. 19 Elvis is Back \u2026 At the Beach!<\/strong>\u00a0This fundraiser coordinated by the\u00a0Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians at St Jude Parish Life Center, 152 Tulip Ave., in Lewes. Entertainment will be provided by Frank Raines as Elvis. The night features dinner; dancing; raffles and auction items. Cost is $65 per person and all proceeds support local charities. The Columbiettes will hold their annual Fall Mum Sale this weekend Sept. 19-20,<\/strong> after all Masses at three locations: St. Mary of the Assumption, Hockessin; St. Joseph on the Brandywine, Wilmington; and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Wilmington. It\u2019s a rain or shine event and there will be plenty of mums at $10 each. All proceeds benefit local charities. For more information, contact12374columbiettes@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Make plans now to attend the Diocese of Wilmington\u2019s Annual Marian Pilgrimage,\u00a0on Sept. 26<\/strong> at Shrine of Our Lady Queen of Peace on the campus of Holy Spirit Church, New Castle. The theme is \u201cOur Lady of Nazareth\u201d and the guest speaker will be Rev. Matthew Kauth of the Diocese of Charlotte, N.C., rector of St. Joseph College Seminary, and author of \u201cThe Imitation of Saint Joseph.\u201d Fr. Kauth will speak on drawing more closely to Our Lady through Saint Joseph. The day begins at 10 a.m. Complimentary breakfast items are available at 9:30 a.m. in the gymnasium. Participants may bring their own lunch or may purchase lunch on site for $10. Lunch will be prepared by the parish\u2019s Hispanic community. The day concludes with a Holy Hour, Rosary and Mass with Bishop Koenig. Check parish bulletins and contact your parish liaison for more information on parish participation in the day.<\/p>\n

Just two weeks away: Men of the Diocese are encouraged to sign up now to share fellowship at the inaugural Catholic Men of Delmarva Conference,\u00a0on Oct. 3,<\/strong> from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at Saint Mark\u2019s High School, Wilmington. The theme is Authentic Masculinity, and the day includes fellowship, music ministry, vendors, national speakers, and Mass with Bishop Koenig. The menu includes delicious roast beef with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, and of course a delicious array of desserts. On Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. all are invited to the 20th Anniversary Concert to Combat Human Trafficking,<\/strong>\u00a0at Skyline Methodist Church, 3100 Skyline Dr., Wilmington, featuring many performers who are connected to Resurrection Parish. Free will donations support Zoe Ministries DE and Shared Hope International. Please come and join the mission to Prevent trafficking and to Rescue and Restore its victims!<\/p>\n

Take a day trip: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish is running a trip to the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster, Pa. to see \u201cJoshua\u201d\u00a0on Sept. 30.<\/strong> Cost is $160 per person, and the price includes show, bus fare, smorgasbord lunch at Hershey Farm in Strasburg, Pa., bus snacks, tips and taxes.
