Since March, his remit has combined sales, marketing, guest relations, and revenue.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The local reservations and sales team has grown from a single staff member to five, reflecting how central the Australia-New Zealand market has become to Swan Hellenic\u2019s strategy.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt was really good to kind of see the team all in one place, and they looked so happy, and everything was really going nicely for them,\u201d Bounas said. \u201cThey\u2019ve got a good hub here. We all work remotely, I think, now. It\u2019s become the norm, but it\u2019s still great to be able to get together, to sit together, and to really kind of understand each other\u2019s sort of areas of operation, where the frustrations are, where the workings are, where we can capitalise upon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Bounas said Australian travellers book earlier and for longer durations than guests in other source markets, with decisions driven more by value than price.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt\u2019s really more value based in terms of their decision making,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s how the experience comes first at the end of the day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">A dedicated B2B portal for travel advisors is due to launch in the next six weeks, hosting training material, destination guides and video content, along with the ability to check availability and book online. Swan Hellenic has also recently launched a YouTube channel featuring in-depth interviews with its expedition team, including a 20-minute Antarctica episode.<\/p>\n<p><noscript><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Magic of Antarctica: A Polar Safari Experience\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Jb_3Fenrt0U?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cIt\u2019s 20 minutes, which goes against the grain of today\u2019s TikTok, 30 seconds,\u201d Bounas said. \u201cBut if you want that detail, you need to have that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Bounas said the trade needed to understand the expedition category more deeply as AI tools become more capable.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAI can go so far, right? It can tell you the basic facts about everything and what you need it to do, but a travel agent is the one that\u2019s at the end of the phone when things need to be tweaked and changed around the last minute, and the relationship for a travel agent with their clients is so important.
