Holland America Line is bringing forward Oosterdam\u2019s major transformation by five weeks following strong demand for cruises aboard the revamped ship.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The cruise line will begin the ship\u2019s Holland America Evolution refurbishment earlier than planned, with Oosterdam now set to return to service on 31 October 2027.<\/p>\n

The move has allowed Holland America to add five new cruises across the Mediterranean, Atlantic and Caribbean.<\/p>\n

However, several existing sailings between 11 September and 9 December 2027 have been cancelled to make way for the earlier dry dock.<\/p>\n

Affected guests and travel advisors are being contacted directly about rebooking options.<\/p>\n

The refurbishment will take place in Marseille, France.<\/p>\n

Five new Oosterdam cruises added<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Holland America Line president Beth Bodensteiner said the cruise line had received an \u201cunprecedented response\u201d to its Evolution plans.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled we can move up Oosterdam\u2019s dry dock to meet guest demand,\u201d Bodensteiner said.<\/p>\n

\u201cStarting earlier allows us to create five additional cruises on the newly reimagined ship.\u201d<\/p>\n

The transformation will introduce new stateroom and suite categories, alongside additions including the Grand Dutch Caf\u00e9 and a redesigned Ocean Bar.<\/p>\n

Oosterdam\u2019s first cruise following the makeover will be a 10-day sailing from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Trieste, departing 31 October 2027 and visiting Italy, Greece, Montenegro and Croatia.<\/p>\n

It will be followed by an 11-day cruise from Trieste to Piraeus (Athens) on 10 November and a seven-day Mediterranean sailing from Piraeus to Barcelona on 21 November.<\/p>\n

The ship will then cross the Atlantic on a 13-day voyage from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale, departing 28 November.<\/p>\n

An 11-day Caribbean roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale will follow on 11 December.<\/p>\n

What happens to existing bookings?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Guests booked on what were previously set to be Oosterdam\u2019s first post-transformation cruise and first transatlantic sailing in December will be given the option to move to the corresponding new voyages.<\/p>\n

The five newly announced cruises will go on sale in early October.<\/p>\n
