The Tasman, a Luxury Collection hotel in Hobart, has announced the opening of LUMINA, a new luxury event space set to elevate Tasmania\u2019s growing business events and incentive travel sector, while also hosting weddings and private celebrations.<\/strong><\/p>\n LUMINA sits in Parliament Square, overlooking Hobart\u2019s waterfront.<\/p>\n The event space is now open and accepting enquiries for events.<\/p>\n \u201cLUMINA marks an exciting new chapter for The Tasman and for Hobart\u2019s events landscape,\u201d The Tasman General Manager Carolyn Smith said. \u201cIt gives us the opportunity to bring the hotel\u2019s signature service, culinary identity and destination into a dedicated events setting.\u201d<\/p>\n Australian practice fjcstudio, the architects behind The Tasman, designed LUMINA, which combines contemporary design with Tasmanian provenance. The pillar-free design is constructed from cantilevered glulam beams manufactured from Tasmanian plantation oak \u2013 the largest weighing in at 4 tonnes.<\/p>\n The architects designed LUMINA to respond to the growing demand for premium, boutique-scale event spaces that can flex between intimate and high-impact formats. The venue can accommodate up to 180 guests theatre style, 156 classroom style, 190 for a gala dinner, 166 for a wedding reception, 100 in an open elliptical format and up to 220 for a standing cocktail event.<\/p>\n Food and beverage will play a central role in the LUMINA experience, reflecting The Tasman\u2019s culinary philosophy and long-standing relationships with Tasmanian producers. Menus will feature seasonal produce, ethical sourcing and wellness-focused options.
