Murray River Paddlesteamers is offering savings of $500 per couple on 2027 and 2028 cruises to celebrate the upcoming launch of Australia\u2019s first, five-star, overnight river vessel, Australian Star<\/em>, on 18 September, 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n The cruise line is also offering a reduced solo supplement of 45 per cent on Australian Star\u2019s three, four and seven-night cruises from the historic, Victorian river port of Echuca on the Murray River.<\/p>\n Australian Star<\/em>\u2019s debut, three-night cruise will herald a new era of luxury cruising on the Murray River. The riverboat blends heritage with contemporary elegance and stands as the largest wood-fired paddlesteamer in the Southern Hemisphere \u2013 and the world\u2019s only five-star, sleep-onboard paddlesteamer, setting a new benchmark for river cruising. Australian Star captures the charm of a 19th-century paddlesteamer while offering modern comforts with 38 deluxe, air-conditioned staterooms. Guests can relax in a plush lounge with panoramic river views, savour gourmet cuisine in the onboard restaurant, and enjoy multiple outdoor spaces perfect for taking in the scenery.<\/p>\n The Victorian Government\u2019s Regional Tourism Investment Fund invested in the vessel, which features an energy-efficient, hybrid propulsion system, powered by an original 1907 wood-fired steam engine.
