Cathay Pacific will roll out its Aria Suite Business class, along with a new Premium Economy and refreshed Economy cabin, on selected Perth–Hong Kong services from 26 October 2026.

The retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER will operate the new cabins on flights CX171 and CX140 until 27 March 2027, subject to operational changes.

The Aria Suite retains the reverse herringbone layout of Cathay’s existing Business product – seats angled away from the aisle – along with premium bedding and generous stowage. New additions include soft LED lighting, privacy doors and wireless charging consoles.

The Business class cabin holds 45 suites in a 1-2-1 configuration, paired with a 24-inch 4K screen – the largest Cathay has fitted to an aircraft – and access to what the airline describes as the most expansive inflight entertainment library in Asia-Pacific. Each cabin also features a work from an artist connected to Hong Kong, part of Cathay’s Gallery in the Skies concept.

150 new aircraft 

The rollout forms part of a roughly HK$150 billion investment by Cathay Group across its fleet, cabin products, airport lounges and digital systems. The group is targeting 150 new aircraft and a 150-destination network over the next decade, market conditions permitting.

Cathay regional general manager, Southeast Asia & Oceania, Aldric Chau, said Perth held particular significance for the airline, noting its first Australian route – launched more than 55 years ago – flew from Perth to Hong Kong via Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur.

“With the Aria Suite, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to elevate the Business class experience,” Chau said. “We want our customers to feel the difference that comes from genuine attention to detail.”
