Hotel Bask will open in 2027 along the western coastline of Indonesia’s Gili Meno island, sitting alongside the original Bask Gili Meno resort with 400 metres of white-sand beachfront on one side and the island’s tropical landscape on the other.

The property will bring 32 guest studios to the island – 30 rooms measuring 63 square metres and two larger studios at 85 square metres – alongside a suite of dining venues and wellness facilities.

Creative director James Brown, RIEM Studio architect Rieky Sanur and Bask CEO Greg Meyer designed the hotel. The design focuses on tropical modernist living, giving it a contemporary character while remaining connected to the original Bask.

“For four years, Bask has served as a refreshing oasis within the Gili Meno landscape, and we are proud to see it preparing to welcome the world once again with the arrival of Hotel Bask, its younger, more dynamic and stylish addition,” Meyer said.

“These new tropical-modernist accommodations, complemented by world-class facilities, will deliver an intimate expression of luxury that reflects the extraordinary character of its location while embodying Bask’s latest vision for elevated hospitality experiences.”

The hotel uses a restrained material palette – sand-toned concrete, rough-hewn local stone, warm timber, dark metal and textured plaster – throughout the property, while native tropical plants soften the building’s geometric lines.

Inside, the hotel features solid stone dining tables, built-in sofas and leather lounges in its communal spaces, balanced by timber chairs and natural fibre rugs. Large-scale paintings, monochromatic photography and black geometric sculptures fill the property, continuing the visual language Bask established with its first Gili Meno resort.
