The Walshe Group marked its 50th anniversary by bringing together its team of over 60 employees to Fremantle, Western Australia for a weekend of celebration.

The weekend brought together team members from across Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the Philippines, including the entire inbound team from sister company Southern Travelnet.

Industry guests that joined the event were Tourism Western Australia senior markets manager of domestic, New Zealand & USA Mel Johnson and South African Airways country manager, of Australia & New Zealand, Michael Hall.

Johnson has worked closely with The Walshe Group through its longstanding partnership with Tourism Western Australia, while Hall is a former team member who spent 36 years with the company.

The program included a team treasure hunt through Fremantle, a full day of presentations reflecting on The Walshe Group’s journey and future, and two thought-provoking panel discussions exploring the evolving travel industry and the role representation plays.

“Reaching 50 years is an extraordinary milestone, but what makes it particularly meaningful is being able to celebrate it with our people, who, past and present, have always been at the heart of our success,” The Walshe Group CEO and managing director Jacqui Walshe said.

“This weekend was an opportunity to look back and recognise how far we have come, celebrate where we are today and, most importantly, think about where we want to go next.”

Rodney Walshe founded The Walshe Group in 1976 and it has grown into a specialist aviation and destination representation company that represents premium airline and destination brands.
