Visit California is on the hunt for eight Aussie travel advisors to join its 2027 California Agent Advisory Council (CAAC), with an exclusive famil, industry connections and a few surprises on the cards.

Now entering its fourth year, the program has grown from a traditional famil into a year-round network of California-loving travel professionals, with the next intake bringing its alumni community to 32 advisors.

Applications opened during Visit California’s Club California events in Sydney and Melbourne last month, with successful candidates set to jet off to the Golden State in March 2027.

And while the itinerary is being kept under wraps until December, Visit California has teased a mix of bucket-list icons, lesser-known gems and sporting experiences.

“Four years ago, Visit California launched CAAC on a simple belief: The best way to grow California in Australia is to invest deeply in the advisors who sell it every day,” Visit California president and CEO Julie Coker said.

“Since then, we’ve deepened partnerships and are growing the network of ambassadors carrying California’s story to their clients, colleagues and more broadly, the Australian market.”

Unlike a typical famil, the experience doesn’t end when advisors touch down back in Australia.

Members remain part of the wider CAAC community, sharing destination knowledge, advising colleagues and providing feedback to Visit California and its partners.

“CAAC is so much more than a famil,” 2026 council member Kellie Easterbrook of Pursers Travel and Cruise said.

“It’s given me firsthand experiences that have completely changed how I sell California, as well as genuine relationships with tourism partners that continue long after we return home.”

United Airlines and Infinity Holidays will once again partner with Visit California on the 2027 program, helping advisors turn their newfound destination knowledge into bookable holidays.

Applicants must be experienced Australian travel professionals with a passion for California, influence within their networks, an active social media presence and current Gold-ranking California STAR Agent certification.

They must also be available to travel in March 2027 and willing to share their experiences with the wider industry.

Applications close Monday, 30 November 2026.

Travel advisors can apply via the California Agent Advisory Council 2027 application form.
