Disney Cruise Line invites guests to the Disney Believe, which will have a stage adaptation of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto,” and a family dining venue based on the “Frozen” animated movies.

The cruise line will open general bookings on 19 October for the Disney Believe, which begins sailing from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale on 18 December 2027.

The ship will run four- and five-night voyages from south Florida to the Caribbean and The Bahamas. Each itinerary will call at Disney Castaway Cay, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, or both.

The Disney Believe is the fourth Wish-class ship, joining the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny. Disney Cruise Line expects the fleet to reach 13 ships by late 2030.

The ship will have seven pools in its family area, and the 232-metre AquaMouse water ride will return with Mickey and Minnie Mouse in two new animated shorts. A Toy Story splash zone will cater for toddlers and young children. Seventy per cent of staterooms will have a verandah, and the ship will have more than 450 connecting doors for larger families.

Entertainment and dining

The Walt Disney Theatre will stage the world’s first adaptation of Encanto, with songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda including ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’ and ‘Surface Pressure’. The show will be exclusive to the ship.

Tangled: The Musical, which previously ran on the Disney Magic, will return with a new set and special effects. A third show, Disney Seas the Adventure, will feature Disney and Pixar characters. A venue called Gazelle, themed on Zootopia, will host trivia, games and character meet-and-greets by day, and silent discos and variety acts for adults at night. Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde will headline a new family show.

A new restaurant, Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast, will feature Oaken, Anna and Kristoff in an original story. It will join two restaurants returning from other Wish-class ships: 1923, which displays more than 1000 items from the Walt Disney Archives, and the Marvel-themed Worlds of Marvel. Other new venues include Inside Out: Joyful Sweets, Big Hero Sips and Café Kakamora, Pluto’s Pita Platters and more.

Aside from Disney Believe, Disney Cruise Line is also adding the Disney Adventure, which sails from Singapore, and will begin Japan cruises in 2029 under an agreement with Oriental Land Co. Three more ships will join the fleet between 2027 and late 2030.
