Scenic Group has appointed Adam Armstrong as chief commercial officer, effective 1 November 2026.
Armstrong brings more than 20 years of senior international experience, serving most recently as Global CEO of Contiki Holidays. He led the business through the pandemic and repositioned the brand for its next phase of growth.


Prior to Contiki, Armstrong worked as senior vice president and managing director – Asia Pacific at Silversea, following a close to 10-year stint with Royal Caribbean Cruises culminating in his role as VP & managing director for Australia and New Zealand.
Armstrong has also held roles with both the UK and Australian arms of Carnival Corporation, as well as TUI Travel PLC.
In Australia, as part of a new APAC leadership structure, Anthony Laver, general manager, Sales & Marketing, APAC, departed Scenic Group on 2 October, after nine years with the business.
Scenic is expected to share a further update on new leadership appointments in the coming days.
Armstrong joins global leadership
Now based in Scenic Group’s Zug office in Switzerland, Armstrong will lead the global commercial organisation for the Group’s brands, Scenic, Emerald Cruises & Tours and Mayflower, across its global markets.
“Adam brings a strong track record of leading international businesses, building high-performing teams and delivering growth,” Scenic Group chairman and founder Glen Moroney said.
“His experience across both cruising and touring, together with his global commercial expertise, will be a great asset as we continue to expand our portfolio of luxury ocean, river and touring brands.”
Commenting on his appointment, Armstrong said that he was delighted to be joining Scenic Group and returning to the cruise industry,
“Scenic Group has an incredibly exciting platform for growth, with outstanding products and a range of new ships and destinations launching in the coming years,” he said.
“I very much look forward to working with Glen and bringing together the global commercial team to deliver the Group’s next chapter.”
Armstrong’s appointment follows the recent additions of Sture Myrmell as chief operating officer and Riko van Santen as chief information officer, further strengthening Scenic Group’s global leadership team.
Scenic Group recently appointed cruise industry veteran Sture Myrmell as chief operating officer.
