Damascus, Sept. 29 (SANA) Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani met EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas in Damascus to discuss Syria-EU relations and ways to strengthen cooperation.

The talks covered the latest political and security developments in the region, as well as efforts to support stability in Syria, promote economic recovery and advance reconstruction and development projects.

Earlier Tuesday, Social Affairs and Labor Minister Hind Kabawat held talks with Kallas and her delegation on cooperation in social protection and sustainable development.

Their talks also covered civil society’s role in delivering services and strengthening social cohesion. Kabawat said the ministry was developing a regulatory framework for non-governmental organizations to promote transparency and fairness and respond more quickly to people’s needs.
