Travelmarvel has returned to Egypt, launching its first Nile River cruises aboard new ship Travelmarvel Sirius.

The ship completed its maiden sailing last week. It marks Travelmarvel’s return to Egypt and a new chapter for its river cruise program.

Travelmarvel Sirius was purpose-built for the Nile. It carries 124 guests across 62 cabins.

Onboard are multiple dining venues, Egyptian entertainment and a large sun deck with a swimming pool.

The ship’s name also has an Egyptian connection. Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky and played an important role in ancient Egyptian astronomy.

Australians return to Egypt

The first guests began their journey in Cairo before boarding Sirius in Luxor.

The itinerary takes in some of Egypt’s biggest ancient sites. These include Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings and Queens, Abu Simbel and Philae Temple.

Guests also visit the Grand Egyptian Museum. Shore excursions are led by qualified Egyptologists.

APT Travel Group CEO David Cox said Egypt was returning to Australian travellers’ wish lists.
