TTC’S senior vice president of sales Andy Young has been elected to the CATO Committee.

Young takes up the position vacated by TTC’s James O’Donnell, who stepped down at the end of July after five years on the committee.

In his current role, Young oversees Trafalgar, Insight Vacations, Costsaver and Contiki.

He has previously worked with CATO as a member of the Touring Academy steering committee in 2024, helping develop the organisation’s first nationally recognised touring accreditation program.

“I’m thrilled to be entrusted by the CATO membership to join the Committee, with my intention to collaborate with fellow committee members in steering the touring sector and its member operators onwards to a prosperous era,” Young said.

“Touring plays such an important role in both our travel trade here, and in extending the reach of tourism dollars in communities worldwide. Both are aspects that I am inspired to help flourish.”

CATO Committee chair Sean Martin said Young joins the organisation at a significant time.

“Andy joins the Committee at an exciting time for CATO, as we build on the opportunities created by our integration with ATIA and continue to strengthen the voice of touring within the broader travel industry,” Martin said.

“His experience, energy and perspective will be a great asset to the Committee.”

Young’s appointment comes as CATO continues its focus on growing the touring category.
